THE Windmill House has been part of the very fabric of Drogheda United FC down the years and the popular meeting spot is firmly behind the Drogs again in 2022.

Ronan Walsh met up with players James Clarke and Charles Mutawe and General Manager Hubert Murphy at a special sponsorship event at the pub.

Ronan continues the great support from down the years by sponsoring the two players for the season.

“It’s great to have your next door neighbours behind you,” Hubert stated. “The Windmill has been synonymous with this club for decades and long may the association continue.”Ronan revealed that the pub has been backing the Drogs since the early 1980s when John and Kathleen Walsh were the driving force.

“We have always been a great sporting pub,” Ronan remarked.He recalled the many Drogs players and managers who used to visit, including Liam Brien.”We see less of the players now as the game has changed and these lads are athletes. But there’s always a great buzz on match nights.”
