Drogheda United travel to Tallaght Stadium on Friday evening to face Shamrock Rovers in the first meeting between the sides this season.
The sides played each other four times during the 2023 season. Both games at Weavers Park ended all square, with a 1-1 draw in February and a scoreless draw in July.
The games in Tallaght saw wins for either side. The game in May saw Drogheda win 2-1 thanks to fine goals from Freddie Draper and Dayle Rooney before in October, a depleted Drogheda side fell to a 5-0 defeat to Stephen Bradley’s side.

In team news, Kevin Doherty is expected to have a full squad to choose from for the trip to Tallaght.

Shamrock Rovers have provided the following information for visiting supporters attending the fixture on Friday.
Tickets
Tickets are available online only for the game on Friday from the following link: https://east.shamrockrovers.ie/
Parking
There is parking available on matchday at The Square Shopping Centre. The parking fee in the car park is currently €1 for 0-3 hours and €2 per hour after 3 hours. All fans travelling by car are urged to use this car park.
Away fans coach parking & drop off point
Away coaches are asked to drop off at the X mark (Point A – Belgard Square South) on the attached map. This is the bus bay for Belgard Square South.
Away supporters can then proceed over the blue pedestrian footbridge ove the N81 that brings them directly adjacent to the Away Turnstile Entrance at Gate 1 for Tallaght Stadium.
To get to the bus bay at Belgard Square South, drivers can take the exit for the Plaza Hotel – marked with blue on the attached map, or alternatively can take the exit off the N81 just past Woodies – marked with green on the map.
After coaches have dropped off, they will be directed to park at South Dublin County Council car park on Belgard Square North. This is circled at point B on the map. They can return to the same drop-off point after the game to collect their passengers.
Stadium Entry for Away Fans
Away fans are accommodated in Blocks K&M of the East Stand with entry via turnstiles of block 1 on the N81 / Square Shopping Centre side of the ground. Shamrock Rovers advise all away fans to use the blue bridge from the Square Shopping Centre to access the away entrance this season.
After Final Whistle
After the game has finished away fans should be aware that there may be a short hold on away fans leaving the ground. The decision as to whether or not this is necessary will be made by the matchday operations team and An Garda Síochana. If the decision is made to hold back away fans, this will be communicated to the away section over the PA system in advance of the end of the game.
