School Tours – Walshestown N.S.

Drogheda United FC stepped into the world of stadium tours this week by hosting 32 students from Walshestown National School.

The students got to learn all about the club, from its humble beginnings in 1919 to how the staff prepare for match days and how the ground staff have the pitch looking so good all the time.

Barry Sanfey from the backroom team showed them around the first team dressing room before General Manager Hubert Murphy detailed the careers of goalkeeper Sam Long and defender Sean Roughan, both on loan from Lincoln City, before both players entered the room to much delight!

The students also received tickets for the next game.

“They were all a credit to Walshestown NS and we were delighted to spend two hours showing them how a football club works,’ the general manager stated.
