Saddlers to Visit Weavers Park

Drogheda United is excited to announce a friendly match against EFL League 2 side Walsall at Weavers Park on Tuesday 30th July, with kickoff at 7pm.

Walsall’s first team, led by Mat Sadler, will be in the Republic of Ireland for a training camp, and their visit includes this highly anticipated match. In addition to the game, an organised fan event will take place in Drogheda during their stay, with more details to be revealed soon.

Tickets will be available to purchase online from Friday morning.

Ticket prices are as follows:

Adults: €20

Over 60s: €10

Under 18s: €5

Family (2 Adults & 2 U18s): €45

Drogheda Co-Chair Ben Boycott is looking forward to the fixture and strengthening the growing relationship between the two clubs.

“We are very excited by the growing collaboration between the two clubs in the areas of recruitment, strategy, best practices, and more, which over time we believe can only benefit the sporting outcomes of both clubs,” he said.

“This friendly match is simply one more step in that process, as we gain the opportunity for in-person collaboration between the management teams and valuable minutes for various players. 

“I’m looking forward to this friendly as a positive step in continuing to grow the sporting relationship between the clubs, in addition to the great experience that it will provide for our supporters.”
