Drogheda United is delighted to announce the appointment of Rian Wogan as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Wogan joins Drogheda United after a successful tenure as Commercial Director at Shamrock Rovers FC, where he played a key role in driving the club’s commercial growth, securing strategic partnerships, and enhancing fan engagement. His experience in football operations, strategic planning, and revenue generation will be instrumental in guiding Drogheda United into an exciting new chapter.
Wogan has a connection to the club, having previously served as Manager of the U17 team in 2019 and 2020. His passion for both the club and the League of Ireland, combined with his expertise in commercial strategy and football operations, makes him the ideal leader to drive sustainable growth on and off the pitch.
As CEO, Wogan is committed to building a strong and sustainable future for Drogheda United. Drawing from his success at Shamrock Rovers, he will focus on expanding commercial partnerships, stadium offerings, and revenue streams to secure the club’s long-term financial stability.
Equally passionate about community engagement, Wogan aims to strengthen ties with supporters, local schools, and grassroots clubs, ensuring Drogheda United remains a club for the community. With a UEFA A License and experience in the League of Ireland underage structure, he will also work to align football operations with financial sustainability.
Seeing this as a pivotal moment for both Drogheda United and the League of Ireland, Wogan is determined to build on the club’s recent success, laying the groundwork for future growth and stadium development while fostering a thriving football culture in Drogheda.
