New Season Information night – Wednesday 21st Feb, Weaver’s Pk @ 7.30pm

Drogheda United Football Club are inviting fans to join them for an information night this coming Wednesday night, 21st February in the Clubhouse at Weaver’s Pk at 7.30pm.

With the Club entering a new dawn following the endorsement by fans at the end of last season for a takeover by Trivela Group Ltd, Club Chairperson Joanna Byrne wants to build on the successful Fans Forum held by the club in the build up to that vote, and continue regular get togethers with the fans to keep communication lines open.

“It’s been a busy off-season as we entered the transition period of the sale of the Club and I’ve no doubt fans and supporters are keen to know what we’ve all been doing since the end of the season.

We’ve had some significant positives, in Kevin Doherty commencing Full-time management of the squad and the appointment of a Full-time Head of Youth in John Donohue. That combined with squad building, significant repairs and improvements to Weaver’s Park and some operational match-night improvements put in place, it’s been a hectic period.

With the Season beginning, i just wanted to take this opportunity to have an informal get together with fans, give them an overview on what we’ve been doing behind the scenes in the off-season and I’m delighted that both Kevin and John will be joining on Wednesday night to speak to all of those who join us.

Something I’ve said time and time again is that our Club has been built by Volunteers, ran by Volunteers and Fans for decades, and as we move into a new regime, it’s important that we keep those people who’ve supported the Club the way they have up to date on how we are progressing. The Club is in a very positive place with lots of great foundations being laid behind the scenes and I’m looking forward to welcoming fans back to the Club before our first home match of the season and keeping everyone in the loop on how things have been progressing.”
