Memories are being made that once again will last a lifetime, particularly for the youngsters in their droves who for many, this form is unprecedented. Similar to what I would of said back in November – we dared to dream, again we are daring to dream on a weekly basis but once again, I would say enjoy the rollercoaster and embrace it.
As we move forward into the next round of fixtures, we need to harness that momentum and build on it, on and off the pitch. We’ve a European journey to look forward to this year and we’re still working hard towards our new stadium plans. New adventures but exciting horizons lay ahead.
All of this comes with a lot of work behind the scenes and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Volunteers and Staff behind the scenes that keep the place ticking over on a daily basis, particularly in recent times as things have got a lot busier for us all. With great success, brings many challenges, and we’re blessed to have great commitment from all involved.
I’d like to take the opportunity also to formally welcome as Chair of this Club, our new CEO Rian Wogan to the Drogs Family. Rian brings with him great experience and already has settled into his role comfortably after his appointment some weeks back.
As we continue to evolve the club in a steady and sustainable manner, we remain in a very strong and positive place and I look forward to welcoming you all back through the turnstiles this evening.
But today, is again all about the football. It’s about Kev, Daire and all the lads as they line out in the Claret and Blue and fill our hearts with pride. Sing Loud, Sing Proud, and Keep The Drogs Flags Flying High!!!!
Forever Claret And Blue,
Joanna Byrne – Chairperson of Drogheda United Football Club
