Drogheda United return to league action this Sunday with a trip to Tallaght Stadium to take on Shamrock Rovers II.
Luke McQuillan caught up with Drogs defender Conor Kane ahead of Drogheda’s first league game since the league resumption.
The full back is also closing in on his 100th competitive appearance for the Boynesiders. Having joined the club in 2017 from St. Patrick’s Athletic, in his four years at the club, Kane has so far made 92 competitive appearances.
“I’m feeling good going into the game on Sunday. I’m just looking forward to getting back playing competitive games, and all of the lads are buzzing to get going Sunday.
“The big pitch will suit our style of play as we like to get on the ball but it will also suit them.
“We will just have to go out and play our normal game,” Kane explained.
Drogheda have played three friendlies against three Premier Division sides in preparation for the league restart, facing Dundalk away and hosting St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne at United Park.
“We all came back in good shape when we got back into training and it showed in the three pre-season games. We’ve had a chance to adapt to no fans at the games so we will see how we will do on Sunday.” Conor added.
Our game against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on Sunday will be strictly behind closed doors. We will have updates across our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Live commentary of the game will also be available on LMFM with Adrian Taaffe from 2:55pm.
