Kevin Doherty’s Drogheda United face league leaders Shamrock Rovers at Head in the Game Park on Monday evening.
Drogheda head into this game on the back of a 3-1 win at home to Finn Harps on Friday while Rovers beat UCD 3-0 on Thursday.
On Friday, it was Harps who took the lead three minutes after the break, as Conor Tourish headed in from close range from a Harps free kick.
Drogheda were reduced to ten men on 65 minutes as Sean Roughan was shown a second yellow. Evan Weir equalised five minutes later, firing past McGinley with one of his first touches since coming on the pitch.
Adam Foley returned from injury late on, replacing Chris Lyons before scoring Drogheda’s second of the game, and assisting Darragh Nugent for the third, either side of Bastien Hery’s red card for the visitors, after he kicked out at Ryan Brennan.
Injured: Darragh Markey.
Doubtful: Dean Williams.
Suspended: Sean Roughan.
Unavailable: Darragh Nugent (on loan from Shamrock Rovers).
