Kevin Doherty’s Drogheda United face Stephen O’Donnell’s Dundalk at Head in the Game Park this evening in the third league derby of the season.
Drogheda come into this game following a 3-0 defeat away to St. Patrick’s Athletic last week. Prior to that defeat, Drogheda had been on a five game unbeaten run that included wins over Finn Harps and Shamrock Rovers, and draws against Bohemians, Derry City and Sligo Rovers.
In Richmond Park, St. Pat’s took the lead four minutes before the break through Billy King.
Drogheda pushed for an equaliser but the Saints scored two late goals through Eoin Doyle and Mark Doyle to seal all three points.
In team news, Dylan Grimes remains doubtful after he was forced off with an injury in the first half against Derry at the Brandywell last month.
Doubtful: Dylan Grimes.
