Drogheda United are delighted to announce that Luke Heeney has signed a new deal with the club.

The 25-year-old is heading into what will be his seventh straight season with his local club since joining in 2019 from St. Patrick’s Athletic.

Heeney made 39 appearances in all competitions last season, bringing his total for the club to 158 appearances in six seasons.

“It feels great to get the deal done and be back for my seventh year at the club which is mad to think about but I’m really looking forward to the year ahead.

“Making that jump to full time football is something I can’t wait for and I’m delighted it’s here at Drogheda.

“The club has come so far since I first signed but to be here now looking forward to a year that involves a European adventure is unbelievable. It’s something that the players, staff and fans deserve and it’s just really exciting times ahead for us all and I can’t wait,” Heeney said.
