ONE of the great constants of Drogheda United FC down the years – dating back to the 1960s – has been local photographer Larry McQuillan and when our player sponsorships came around for the 2022 season, no better man that Larry to get involved.

He has signed up Dayle Rooney for the season ahead and was delighted to be on the other side of the camera when we snapped him last week. “I have followed Drogheda for many years and seen some great players here,” he stated.

He was delighted with the efforts of the team last year and would love to see Kevin Doherty and the lads enjoy another success story in 2022. But he revealed that just because Dayle is his sponsored player for this season, it doesn’t mean the rest of the players will lose out on getting their snaps taken!
