Killian Phillips Signs For The First Team

Drogheda United are delighted to announce the signing of Killian Phillips to the first team.

The versatile midfielder, who can also play centre back, made his first senior appearance for the club in a friendly away to Dundalk in July last year.

Phillips remained with the first team squad for the remainder of the season. The 18-year-old was on the bench for six games in the league throughout the remainder of the season while also playing for Wayne Groves U-19’s.

“It was great training with the first team week in, week out and then going down to (play at) 19s. It benefited me a lot, and to win the First Division was a great experience.

“When Tim and Kevin asked me to sign back it was a no brainer. Wayne (Groves) also played a big part in me signing. I can learn a lot from this squad, and it will only benefit me.

“The goals for the season are to try break into the team and stay in Tom Mahon’s Irish U-19s squad, I’m just looking forward to the season to start,” Phillips said.
