Killian Cailloce signs for Drogheda United

Drogheda United are delighted to announce the signing of forward Killian Cailloce.

18-year-old Cailloce returns to the club having spent the last 18 months playing for SM Caen in France.

Killian had first joined Drogheda in 2020 at U15 level before progressing through to our U17 and U19 sides.

The 2022 season saw Cailloce become a regular in our U19 side while also being involved with the first team squad.

Killian became the youngest player to ever feature for the club in the League of Ireland when he made his league debut as a 16-year-old against Sligo Rovers in March 2022.

“Over in France, I was in a full time environment, in the academy and I was with the reserve team too, getting experience with senior players. It was a big difference, training every day. I think my game has grown in all aspects.

“When you train every day, you grow. Moving to a different country too, it isn’t just in football you learn but outside of football too.

“I’ve been back home for a month now. I really enjoyed my time previously at Drogheda, and made my debut here when I was sixteen so I’m delighted to be back,” Cailloce explained.

Manager Kevin Doherty also expressed his delight at Cailloce’s return to the club.

“I met Killian during the summer, and was surprised with how much he has grown physically. I think people know how much I like Killian, he had his debut here with us when he was sixteen,” Doherty said.

“He went to France, and got great experience, but was looking to come home so it was a no brainer to get him in because I know his potential.

“He is another good young lad that will fit into our group and the dynamic we have here. We have our experienced players but we have hungry young players too.

“Killian was very keen to join too and that’s what I want. I want players that want to be at the club, so I’m delighted to have him here,” Doherty explained.
