Drogheda United are delighted to announce that James Clarke has signed a new deal with the club for 2022.
Clarke joined the club ahead of the 2019 season from Shamrock Rovers. His first season in senior football in 2019 saw Clarke make 17 appearances, scoring once against Athlone while also playing for the U19 side that reached the National League semi-final.
In the shortened 2020 season, Clarke made 15 appearances, scoring once in a 3-1 win at home to Bray, a goal that came second in the Supporters Goal of the Season vote.
The midfielder featured 25 times in his first season in the Premier Division in 2021, bringing his total appearances for the club so far to 57.
He scored once, coming off the bench to net a last gap 93rd minute equaliser against Bohemians to earn a point in a 1-1 draw at Head in the Game Park.
