Drogheda energy company Flogas Ireland have renewed their sponsorship of Drogheda United FC. “Flogas is committed to supporting strong vibrant communities through sport and so we’re delighted to be backing Drogheda United and the important role it plays in the local area. The announcement builds on the great relationship that has existed for many years and we wish them the very best,” said John Conroy, marketing manager at Flogas.
As part of the package, Flogas branding will be appearing around the sidelines of Weavers Park, the home of the ‘Drogs’.
Hubert Murphy, general manager, Drogheda United, said, “Securing major brands to come in and get behind the club is part of the Drogheda United commercial strategy as we move the club forward in the coming years. Flogas is a trusted household name, and we thank their team for backing our team.
“Flogas is such a part of Drogheda – an institution one could say – and to see the company expand as it has over the decades gives the Boyneside a real sense of pride,” Hubert added.
Continuing the sporting theme, Flogas is also the official Energy Partner of Team Ireland for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The company will be supporting the country’s top sportspeople and encouraging young up and coming athletes to follow their dreams and pursue their passions.
Flogas is part of the DCC Group and has been based in Drogheda since 1978. The company supplies gas, electricity and renewable energy solutions to over 180,000 homes and businesses across the island of Ireland.
