Drogheda United are delighted to announce that defender Dane Massey has signed a new deal with the club.
Dane has also been named as new club captain by manager Kevin Doherty.
Massey first joined the club ahead of the 2021 Premier Division season from Dundalk, where he had made 291 appearances in an eight year spell.
The 33-year-old was an ever present in 2021, largely at centre-half, making 33 appearances throughout the season.
He also finished joint third on the goalscoring charts alongside Jordan Adeyemo, netting four times, all in May.
A brace in the 7-0 win over Waterford was followed up by free kicks against St. Patrick’s Athletic (3-1 win) and a last gap, injury time winner away to Finn Harps (1-0).
