Drogheda United are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Colin McCabe has signed a new deal with the club.
The 25-year-old first joined the club from Shelbourne, ahead of the 2021 Premier Division season.
McCabe had previously played for Celtic between 2012 and 2017 with two loan spells to Stenhousemuir during his time in Scotland. After his return to Ireland in 2017, McCabe played for Bohemians and Shelbourne.
The 2021 season saw McCabe play six times in competitive games, five in the league and once in the FAI Cup with his debut being in a 4-0 league win away to Longford Town in April.
McCabe made a further 22 appearances in all competitions in the 2022 season (twenty in the league, and two in the FAI Cup).
“I’m very happy to be back. Obviously we have lost some players but there are some very key and important players and people still at the club.
“For me, I really want to continue developing and playing games. I want to build on last year, I’m coming into this season as hungry to learn and play as I have in the previous years and I’m looking forward to the challenges of what next season will bring,“ McCabe said.
