Drogheda United FC is now recruiting for the following positions:
- Coordinator, Local Training Initiative (LTI)
- Assistant Coordinator, Local Training Initiative (LTI).
Location; Barbican Centre, Drogheda, Co. Louth.
Commencement date: Immediately
Description
An exciting new education programme is due to start in October in Drogheda targeted at young people who wish to pursue a career in the sports industry and learn about how sports clubs operate. Drogheda United Football Club and the Louth & Meath Education & Training Board (LMETB) have teamed up to deliver a Diploma in Business Administration (VTCT level 2) course, which will use the powerful attraction of football to engage unemployed people with mainstream education.
The Diploma in Business Administration, which is mapped at QQI Level 4 on the National Framework of Qualifications will feature exclusive football related content designed to give trainees an understanding of the administrative side of running a football club.
If you have experience in improving educational outcomes for young adults in disadvantaged settings and experience of designing, developing, delivering and submitting QQI accredited training programmes, we’d like to hear from you.
Ideally, you will have a third level academic qualification with a qualification in a Sports, Business- related area being an advantage. You should also have a recognised Training Qualification – minimum Train the Trainer at QQI level 6.
Given the nature of the role, a strong interest in football would be an advantage while a nationally recognised football coaching qualification while not essential, would be desirable.
Hours of work: Full time – Monday to Friday (39 hours per week).
Salary: Competitive
Deadline for receipt of Job Applications is Friday 17th September 2021 at 5pm.
