Drogheda United are delighted to announce that Brandon Bermingham has signed a new deal with the club.
Bermingham is the tenth player to be announced from Tim Clancy’s 2021 Premier Division squad.
The teenager joined Drogheda from Bohemians in November 2019 after scoring 14 times at U19 level and featuring in the UEFA Youth League for the Dublin side.
Brandon’s first full season in senior football saw the forward score five goals in 17 appearances for his local side.
The first of those goals came in a 2-2 draw against Shamrock Rovers II, a goal which was voted as Drogheda United Fans’ Goal of the Season for 2020.
August also saw Bermingham nominated for the 2019 Schools International Player of the Year at the ‘Three’ FAI International Awards.
“Signing back was an easy decision to be honest. Last season was brilliant for me individually and as a team, so it was a no brainer really.
“Hopefully this season will be the same. Tim and Kev are great for the group aswell so that was a factor.
“I think for me personally, it was my first goal for the club against Rovers just after lockdown. Another one that stands out aswell was the game against Cabo when Jimmy (Brown) put us one up,” Bermingham said, talking about his moment of the season.
“I’d say for me, it would be to contribute as much as I can again with minutes on the pitch and then hopefully goals and assists come with that.
“As a team, it would have to be to stay in the Premier as a newly promoted team and kick on from there.”
