MU17 vs Dundalk

Our MU17s continued their campaign with a 1-0 win away to Dundalk in Oriel Park early this afternoon.

The first half was a scrappy affair but Drogheda still had three good chances to go ahead with Matthew McCloskey having a goal ruled out for offside.

The away side improved their overall performance in the second half and following a triple substitution Jack Richmond scored with a brilliant header in the 76 minute with Joey Hegarty providing the assist.

The away side saw the game out with good game management for the remainder of the second half.

The MU17s now have a weekend off and return on the 6th April away to Shelbourne.

MU14 vs Dundalk

Drogheda made the short trip up the M1 to Oriel Park for last of the first series of games in this first phase. Despite an early set back when Dundalk took an early lead, Drogheda worked to frustrate Dundalk and as the game progressed started to show promise in their attacking moves.

While Drogheda were creating chances both from open play and set pieces, the final shot or delivery just fell short. Dundalk were better able to capitalise on their own chances much to Drogheda’s chagrin. The first phase takes a short break with the next game away to Shelbourne taking on place Sun 6th April in the AUL.
