MU20 vs Dundalk

Drogheda United U20s came out on top in the Louth Derby with a commanding 3-0 victory over Dundalk U20s on Saturday in DIFE.

Despite missing key players who featured in Friday night’s first team friendly, including captain Evan Haddock and Scott Brady, Drogheda’s squad depth proved crucial in securing an impressive win.

A strong defensive display kept Dundalk at bay, despite the visitors enjoying some good spells of possession. Drogheda’s ability to take their chances and the impact of their bench made the difference in an excellent team performance. The visitors started well and some nice sequences of play but they could not break down Drogheda’s defence.

Drogheda took the lead after 41 minutes when Dare Kareem set up Cian Cleary for a well-taken finish. Kareem doubled the lead with a composed finish after 51 minutes to put them in a commanding position.

Drogheda brought on substitutes which helped to get them over the line and two of them combined for the third when Andrew Olajide set up Cameron Feehan for a brilliant finish.

MU15 vs Dundalk

Drogheda United U15s played at home against Dundalk, looking for their first home win of the campaign.

Drogheda started strong and created some good chances in the first half, but just couldn’t finish off those chances created. Both teams went in at halftime goaless.

Dundalk started stronger in the second half and did create more opportunities than the home team. Dundalk broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute from a corner. Drogheda piled on the pressure and did manage to create a few opportunities to tie and possibly take the lead but just couldn’t convert those chances.

As Drogheda were pushing for the equaliser, Dundalk broke to kill off the game and any chance of Drogheda getting a draw from the game deep into injury time. A break next Saturday for the lads and the following Saturday, April 5th, they once again play at home against Shels.

WU17 vs Peamount United

Drogheda United WU17 lost 3-0 away to Peamount Utd. The game was level at half time, with Emalie McDonald impressive in goal.

Peamount scored early in the second half, before going on to score twice more in the half to win the game.
