Ryan made his league debut for Bohemians in a 1-0 win over Drogheda in 2009 before joining First Division sides Longford Town and Athlone Town on loan the following season.
The midfielder represented Bohs’ A Championship side in 2011 before enjoying a breakout season 12 months later as he netted five times in 19 appearances as the Gypsies finished sixth.
He was amongst the goals again a year on as Ryan scored six times in 29 games as Bohs narrowly avoided relegation before an injury-hit campaign saw him feature only 11 times in 2014.
A move to Bray Wanderers saw him end his six-year stay at Dalymount Park and he was en ever-present for the Seagulls as they finished eight and he then joined Premier C side McKelvey Celtic in the off-season before departing for Australia to join Essendon Royals.
Ryan returned to Ireland in 2017 to sign for Pete Mahon’s newly promoted Drogheda United.
