After their tough match with St Pats on Wednesday night, the Drogs Under 17s faced another big test away to Bohemians on Saturday and can count themselves unlucky not to have come away with at least a point.
With four new signings on board since midweek , it will take the new guys some time to settle into the side and some of the team were feeling the after-effects of Wednesday’s tough match.
The match started evenly in warm conditions and there was little to choose between the teams and they went in 0-0 at half time. Ten minutes into the second half Bohs attacked down the right and took the lead after a good move.
Although the Drogs tried very hard for the equaliser, they came up short and things were not helped by Callum Leonard getting a rather undeserved second yellow card 10 minutes from time. Bohs added a second goal in the closing minutes.
Despite this reverse, Drogs Coach Niall Cully expressed himself happy with the Drogs performance ‘We have had two really tough matches in the last week against the two top teams, the players acquitted themselves very well, but we’re now loking forward to Cavan-Monaghan at home in the Cup on Wednesday.
