Drogheda United are delighted to announce that Paul Skinner has joined the club from Longford Town.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper put pen to paper over the festive period as he joins the Boynesiders for the second time in his career.
Skinner joined Celtic as a youth in 2005 but departed the SPL Champions three years later having failed to make a breakthrough to the first-team.
On his return to Ireland, Skinner joined Paul Doolin’s Drogheda side where he made four appearances towards the latter end of 2008 before becoming the club’s first-choice keeper under Alan Mathews the following season.
After a two-and-a-half year spell at United Park, Skinner joined Shelbourne where he was a part of the side that won promotion to the Premier Division as well as being FAI Cup finalists.
He was on the move again in 2013 as he signed for Roddy Collins’ Athlone Town where he kept eleven clean sheets as they romped towards the First Division title.
Skinner departed Athlone two years later to join Longford Town where had been a regular over the course of the last three years before moving on last November.
