Drogheda United are pleased to announce that Chris Lyons has joined the club from Shelbourne.
The forward made his breakthrough at UCD spending two years with the Students before joining Bohemians in 2013.
A one-year stay at Dalymount Park was followed by a season with Shamrock Rovers B where he was the Hoops’ top scorer in the First Division.
The 24-year-old was on the move again as he joined Bray Wanderers and was a near ever-present in a side that finished eight in the table.
Lyons then joined new Drogs Director of Football Dave Robertson at Sligo Rovers where he scored once in six appearances before again re-joining Bray.
The Dubliner will be no stranger to the First Division having signed for Owen Heary’s Shelbourne last November where they ultimately finished the campaign in fourth.
Lyons becomes the seventh member of Tim Clancy’s squad for next season as he joins Sean Brennan, Kevin Farragher, Conor Kane, Colm Deasy, Jake Hyland and Gareth McCaffrey in committing their future to the Drogs.
More signings are expected next week.
